Our day trip with Sebastien, Evelie, Nina, and Marieuse, 26/10

We had met Evelie and Sebastien back during our tour of Montpellier. They invited us to go on an excursion with them this Sunday to see the flamant rose (pink flamingo). We drove out to the spot, but unfortunately the flamingos had already migrated. So, instead we just hiked around the preserve. Poor Marieuse was stung early on by bees, but he recovered quickly as little kids do. I think he is about 1 year old and Nina is 3 years old. Though we didn't see any flamingos, we did encounter other birds, horses, and sheep along the path.

Later, we stopped for lunch at a park. Now for the post food analysis! They had an aperitif of cashews (noix de cajous), tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella, and pasta with olive oil and fish. We also enjoyed some beer with lunch, 1664. Our lunch was more American, Pbj's with carrot sticks, bananas, apple sauce, and oranges. After lunch, we walked back and headed home. Not the most exciting day, but it was nice and relaxing to go on a walk with friends.
