Our first boardgame night, 20/09/08 We were so excited when Andy met a co-worker, Christophe, who plays boardgames! He actually has a bigger collection than Andy does, which is quite amazing! We were invited to his house to play Agricola with him and some of his friends Saturday night. Upon arriving to his house, we met his wife and two children. His daughter was so adorable! We were able to speak a little French to them, but not much. Later, we met Papi and Marcus, our fierce competitors. I don't think either knew much English, but we got along well. The game basically consists of building up your house and farm land. You can have children (which gives you extra turns), but you have to be able to support them. We played the basic version since it was the first time playing for most of us. But, I can't wait to play it again with occupation and minor improvement cards. I wasn't the winner of the game, but I wasn't last either (which made me happy!). To learn more about the game, click here. During the game, we had sugar crepes, crepes with fig, and pear tart. It was so delicious! I have tried replicating the sugar crepes, but I think I prefer nutella in mine! |
