First, we have some random pictures from Montpellier. We found a bakery close to our house and took some pictures of all the delicious cakes they had for sale.

A display case of cakes

Concorde

Chocolate mousse covered in chocolate meringue

Notice how different a French cake is

Strawberry and pistachio

We spotted a French man wearing a Florida State Hat

Go Seminoles!

These pictures were taken with the utmost discretion, of course

Paris: Day 1

Now, we have some pictures from our trip to Paris (11/11-13/11)! Day 1 is below.

There are N's scattered about Paris, for you know who...

This could be in my grafitti collection, but it's from Paris, not Montpellier

I guess stores hire grafitti artists to decorate their shutters

A creepy door knocker

An obelisque dedicated to Ramses II

The sun came out, and now you can see the hieroglyphics better

Close up of the hieroglyphics

A beautiful fountain

In this plaza, there is a statue for each major French city; this one is Lille

This statue is for Brest

The Arc de Triomphe in Paris; it's a little bigger than Montpellier's

There are people carved into all of the buildings

I'm not sure who this is; maybe Louis. But, I do know from what side

There are tons of bridges over the Seine

I thought it was neat to have a statue with a perspective-less style similar to Picasso's

A picture of the whole statue; for researching later

I'm not sure what this structure is called, but it was cool looking

Sara and I in front of the Eiffel Tower

A rare shot of Sara

From beneath you it devours

The sun made a beautiful profile of the river buidings

It's hard to capture a moment with pictures

The walk up to Sacre Coeur

We snuck up to Sacre Coeur at night with some wine. It has a great view

Paris: Day 2

As for day 2, Andy was busy at his conference, so I went to Musee d'Orsay that day. Click here to check out the pictures from the museum. Below is the rest of day 2.

First, I wandered around the city until I found a place to stop and have lunch

After lunch, I wandered the city looking for a museum to go to

Wandering by a bridge

I thought that this bridge was really interesting, so I took a bunch of pictures

A close-up of the gilded statue

More cool statues on the bridge

Yet another

I spotted a mythical battle!

The National Assembly in Paris

We went out to a nice dinner that night, but only managed to take one picture of our courses

Clouds were painted on the ceiling (Although, the flash was hard to manage)

We had dinner at l'Alisier Restaurant. It was very delicious! For our appetizers, as you can see, we both had tomato and mozzarella. The plat principal for me was Chicken escalope smothered in a blue cheese sauce and served with cheesy mashed potatoes. Andy had dijon prime rib served with steak fries. They were both "out-of-this-world" delicious! For dessert, we split an apple tart (a secret family recipe) served with vanilla and caramel ice cream. What an amazing meal!

Films from Day 1 & 2

I spotted a protest
